BALIKBAYAN BOX Scam by Manila Forwarder

Manila Forwarder the BALIKBAYAN box delivery company became a real name of pain for many Pilipino who live in overseas. I can’t blame them for dealing with Manila Forwarder because its CEO Manny Paez is a proved scammer who knows how to motivate people to deal with him.

Here is the URL of Manny Paez’s BALIKBAYAN box delivery company Manila Forwarder:
http://manilaforwarder.com/

Like any other scam site it has tried to show that they are the ‘one’ in this business. Only they follow the proper rules & regulation in home & abroad. Also they are certified & reliable.

By noticing such lucrative advertisement one of my Pilipino friends who studies in the US went for their service.  That poor guy works hard to earn his living. Actually he wants to reduce the pressure of tuition fee on his parents as much as possible.

Last year he worked hard during the Christmas holiday to give some gift to his parents and younger sister who was 14 years of age. Then he found http://manilaforwarder.com/ on the internet.

On their homepage Manila Forwarder claimed that they are approved by both Pilipino & US government. In addition there is only one company beside them who has such approval. Also they ensure security and proper shipment of BALIKBYAN box at any cost.

Next day he purchased some gifts with his hard earned cash for which he even sacrificed his Christmas! Then he packed those gifts inside the box and mailed it via Manila Forwarder.

Manila Forwarder also claimed that they will deliver BALIKBAYAN box within the shortest time possible. But it had been 25-30 days that he sent box there was no affirmative reply from his family about the recipient of the box.

At one stage he complained to Manila Forwarder but they didn’t reply his mail. He even tried to contact them but every time the operator told him the same story that they are reviewing the matter.

We felt his pain & we suggested him to contact them directly. So he contacted the CEO of Manila Forwarder, Manny Paez. This man who is used to present himself as a well mannered and helpful person just denied any charges against his company! Also he behaved rudely! He told that it’s my friend’s fault that the BALIKBAYAN box is not delivered; maybe he put a wrong address! My friend strictly denied and told if you call my home number then you will find whether I put the wrong address or not. Shrewd CEO of Manila Forwarder again behaved rudely without telling sorry.

That’s the true face of Manila Forwarder. To all of my Pilipino friends my unrest request is that don’t give your valuable BALIKBAYAN box to this company owned by Manny Paez.  Make your BALIKBAYAN shipment out of risk.

  2. If there is any delays in shipments, it is not Manila Forwarder. The US Law allows US Homeland Security to conduct random inspections that caused those delays. We cannot do anything about it but follow the law. For airline bookings, the price always changes if it is not booked immediately. You all see that in all airline booking engines.

  7. I would agree that Manilaforwarder in the USA has many things lacking, and difficult for them to pickup the phone and talk to a real person on the other end. I will consider other services than these clowns!

  9. The US Law allows US Homeland Security to conduct random inspections that caused those delays, they delayed packages for 3 months? Then at least be honest to tell your clients that packages are delivered more than 3 months. Be responsible to give feedback on clients instead of giving us series of alibis when we follow up. It is extremely annoying to hear unacceptable reason and alibis. Mr paez u have not wronged anyone, it's just that the delivery time sucks! Maybe a little push from your sleeping employees somewhere out there or an incentive to clients who had delayed packages to appeased them. Here is my tracking# 1079511 and not yet delivered as of today:( (Costumer's are always right)

  11. I have sent 4 boxes via Philbox out of STL over the past 2 years. The people here are very kind and helpful, but the boxes have always taken 6-9weeks min. Now my last 2 boxes have ben sent in November and July, are still out there somewhere! The tracking numbers no longer give me any status info... SO.. who do you recommend? The usps charges the same amount for a shoe box size!

  12. I have been using Manila Forwarder twice a year since the late 1900's when they opened in Los Angeles, CA. Its kinda funny that I am preparing my package now that I did a quick search on them as their old building at Eagle Rock in Los Angeles is already closed and getting ready to be demolished for the construction of a new building. I called the old phone number 1 800 2101019 and was able to talk to one of their employees who I remember to be with them for years. Yes they have moved to Northridge I was told but they still pick up all over California. I told them about some negative comments I saw online and they we're quick to tell me that those delays and opened boxes was brought by US Homeland Security inspections that is done randomly. Things in shipping have changed a lot and some people just do not realize the realities of shipping post 9-11. They said that they cannot do anything about those inspection complaints as no company is exempted from that. Well, I believe the girl employee that I talked to as I am a Law Enforcement Officer myself. The employee just ask me if I can share my thought online as some people took it to themselves to take it personally and maliciously malign the company online, even putting numerous websites just to complaints of the delays and opened packages not realizing that such is being done by USHS to protect the nation, I will still be a Manila Forwarder customer I do not mind those random inspections. I just have to send earlier than usual just in case my package get inspected.
